I captured this image in Southern Ontario. The scene unfolded in a calm way, the silhouette of the deer standing perfectly between the two bare trees caught my eye immediately. The intricate branching patterns of the trees created a natural frame around the deer. I knew that black and white would bring out the textures and shapes more powerfully, stripping away distractions and focusing on the stark contrast between the dark silhouettes and the soft, muted sky. It’s moments like these, fleeting yet perfectly composed by nature, that remind me why I love being behind the camera.
